INSURANCE POLICIES 

I am an Out-of-Network (OON) provider of acupuncture.

When you make your first appointment, we will discuss your insurance and then my biller will verify your coverage. Once verified, my biller will submit all visits to your insurance company in a timely manner.

If your OON deductible has not yet been met, you will have to pay out-of-pocket for your treatments until it is satisfied. After the deductible is met, you will only pay co-insurance. For instance, if your deductible is $800 but you’ve only met $400, you will have to pay out of pocket until the entire $800 is met. Afterward, you’ll switch to co-insurance payments.

• The only plans that I take are BCBS, United Healthcare and Aetna. Please note that BCBS is managed differently than the other two in terms of reimbursement.
• If you do not have OON coverage, you will pay the self-pay amount on the day of the treatment.
• I do not accept Medicare, as acupuncture is not part of Medicare yet, except for low back pain with an acupuncture MD. However, in some cases, supplemental plans will pay for OON acupuncture.
• I do not accept Medicaid as Medicaid does not reimburse for OON care.
