Mindy Pickard Acupuncture Provider Headshot

Mindy earned a Masters in Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA). She is a NCCAOM Diplomate in Acupuncture and is licensed in New York State. She is trained in several acupuncture styles, including trigger-point release, Japanese Meridian Style, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  She is also certified in NAET- Allergy Elimination Technique and Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Ms. Pickard is a certified Kampo practitioner, which is the use of traditional Chinese Herbs in the Japanese tradition.  

Mindy Pickard is passionate about the magic of her medicine. She encourages her patients to be passionate advocates for their own health. 

Mindy maintains a private practice in NYC and West Hurley, NY.

Education and Professional Training

Continuing education and collaboration has been key to Mindy’s career: 

  • Acupuncture Internship with Nigel Dawes, master Kampo practitioner, from 2005-2007 
  • Post-Graduate Kampo Herbal Certification with Nigel Dawes. 2007-2008 
  • Certification in NAET Basics I and II, 2009   
  • Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture certification with Virginia Doran at Luminous Beauty 
  • Worked with Shelly Goldstein, cosmetic acupuncture master practitioner, from 2011-2013  
  • Worked at Soho OBGYN from 2013-2015 with renowned doctors, Debra Coady and Dena Harris. Soho OBGYN was in the forefront of helping patients with pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.  2013 marked the beginning of Mindy’s passion for all things pelvic. As a woman who was diagnosed with endometriosis in the early 80s, this work resonated and continues to resonate with Mindy.  She is a foremost leader and innovator in the field of pelvic acupuncture, working in a highly collaborative community of like-minded practitioners. 
  • Worked at Thrive Physical Therapy from 2015-2017, where she specialized in orthopedic and sports injury conditions.

Background

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Mindy worked in the entertainment industry as a marketing executive for 20+ years. She held posts at Showtime, BMG Entertainment, CBS Fox Home Entertainment, MTV Networks and New Yorker Films. She has a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. In her youth, Mindy was a professional ballet dancer and is now an avid yoga, Pilates and tennis enthusiast.  She also enjoys reading and seeing films on the big screen.   She was introduced to acupuncture in 2000, after suffering from chronic neck pain, a result of the constant stress of the corporate lifestyle.
